Meet Voidpet #46: Patience.

Patience is a big cutie. A little woodland duckling that morphs between quail, owl, and swan, while appearing more full-bodied than any of the real birds it's based on. It's a wood type, because despite its gentle demeanor, it's still a feeling regarding urgency and growth. It's the decision to remain calm despite urgency, knowing that what appears to be slow can be a dynamic transformation that eludes the naked eye. You can't tell if Patience is just hiding its little feet, or sitting atop hidden roots running deep beneath the ground.

Patience also as a thematic counterpart: Wrath. Something between an angry goose and a mythical phoenix of chaos, this bird is in flight, sports a signature bump on its bill resembling a furrowed brow, and has feet that sprout into talking heads. It's a fire type, symbolizing high energy and destructive potential.
Deadly Sins & Heavenly Virtues
These two Voidpets are more than elemental opposites—they represent a larger conceptual pairing that fans have long requested: the sins and virtues. As some of you may know, I wrestled with this topic for a while—for a few years, in fact. The seven deadly sins were the most popular request on my videos, but I was initially hesitant to include them at all. Voidpets are meant to represent emotions, like sadness, anger, and anxiety—not behaviors. And the notion of "sin" is more about action than feeling. It’s important to distinguish that acting out wrath isn't just feeling angry. But at the end of the day, Voidpet is a collectible monster fantasy above all else—and art can mean whatever you want it to. I eventually submitted to the idea that "more pets = more fun", and that even abstract or behavioral concepts can be explored under the same lens as emotions. Wrath may not be anger, but someone acting in wrath is likely feeling something—fury, fear, insecurity, overwhelm, or even grief—and that emotional tie is enough to justify exploration. Or perhaps it's the image of wrath itself. Or the label of wrathful upon oneself or others. All of which are poignantly human, and thought-provoking.
As such, the seven heavenly virtues have equal footing. Patience may be about doing more than feeling, but there's an emotional state that underpins the act. There's a toll, a mood, a mindset that allows patience to exist. So if Wrath can be a Voidpet, then so can Patience.
Similarities & Differences
ELEMENT
Patience is a wood type, while Wrath is a fire type. One of the most common misconceptions is that fire overpowers wood. But in traditional Chinese medicine—and in the Void—that’s not how the relationship works.Wood fuels Fire. It enables it. Fire arises because of Wood, not in opposition to it. Just as the sun doesn’t destroy the forest simply by shining, Fire doesn't inherently dominate Wood. Their relationship in nature is generative, not destructive. Likewise, Wrath doesn't beat Patience. But it can certainly consume it.
EYE SHAPE
I like the eyes to mirror each other somewhat in shape language. They both have S-curved eyes, but they are inverted. While Patience's smiles at the inside and curves up at the tip, Wrath's suggested a knotted brow and downturned end.SILHOUETTE
Wrath's silhouette is chaotic. The little bird is bulging with angst, with sharp edges protruding against its roundness. Its feathers are always splayed, symbolizing its fire and aggression.Patience's silhouette is streamlined stillness. Its minimalistic curvature is like seaglass, sanded down over years in the ocean. While its avian origins echo Wrath's, it couldn't look like more different of a bird.
Where do I find Patience?
Patience is the newest legendary in Voidpet Dungeon. Like Wrath, it represents a complex, mature emotional state—one that’s easy to understand on the surface but difficult to truly master. These aren’t beginner emotions. They require reflection, restraint, and depth. That’s what makes them powerful. And that’s why they deserve to stand among the Void’s most formidable monsters.Good luck hatching one.
It might take some time. So just be patient.
